John Robertson is a comedic genius. We here at Developers at Large did not create The Dark Room. We did however build the software John uses to entertain people all over the world on. A front-end viewer displays a data file supplied by a back end map editor which then allows helps to enable all kinds of videos, images and various shenagians on stage.
It may not be fancy, but it gets the job done and makes sure the real star is never upstaged.
We have worked on a number of exhibitions with the local science museum and their in-house expo team. From creating water finding simulators on other planets to car cutting games and even re-creating satellite listening systems, these projects have always been interesting. And the best part is working with the team to try and ensure the gameplay aligns with the learning outcomes. We are always up for the challenge!
We were involved in production of The Dark Room Game for home PCs. The Dark Room is a many layered beast and John Robertson wrote an entirely new script based on the stage show with additional content and puzzles designed only for this version.
The game looks amazing and plays well, has a good following and review on Steam and we are working towards finishing The Dark Room.
Now if we could only find that pesky light switch…
